“Home schooling looked like a great option,” says Pam, a mother concerned about her youngest girl’s high school education. “But when I started looking into curricula, I felt like a guppy thrown into the ocean. There was so much out there to pick from, and it was absolutely overwhelming.”

Like Pam, many parents feel out of their depth with the seemingly endless supply of home schooling resources available. But if you’re stepping into the home school arena, you don’t have to be intimidated. With a little preparation, you can find the curriculum that is a perfect fit for your family.

As salamualaikum Sisters,

Because of the change of date we would like to confirm your attendance and volunteering status. Please confirm your attendance again and let us know if you are still able to help.

Here are the details of the picnic:

THE BOYD CONSERVATION AREA (same place as the last two years)

TIME: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

(although the park is open till 9:00 pm and your family is welcomed to stay)

MENU: POTLUCK

COST: $6.50 per adult, Children 15 and under are FREE

TMH will cover the cost of the site rental and also cover the admission cost for 1 adult per family
Here are the volunteer responsibilities that need your attention, for us to have a successful picnic. When you sign up for one of these tasks you will get more details and will be assisted.
Food3 sisters
- These sisters will organize the food situation (before the picnic) insuring there is the right amount and selection of food items
Set up- 2 sisters
- these sisters will set up the picnic site and organize the food as it arrives ( they will be in charge of the table clothes and cutlery (disposable) purchase)
Children activities- 2 sisters
- These sisters will organize the activities and facilitate them day of..
- Loot bags or fun give away-2 sisters
- These sister will purchase and package a loot bag or a fun give away for the kids
Clean up- 2 sisters
- these sister will pack and distribute the (leftover) food at the end of the picnic as well as organize a clean up.
- Husbands can also volunteer for set up, clean up and boys activities.

Apologies if you have already confirmed, we need clarification.
This list will be sent out again highlighting the tasks that were not taken (at the end of next week inshallah)

The TorontoMuslim Homeschoolers (TMH) is an organization which provides support to Muslim homeschooling families in Torontoand the GTA. TMH began 4 years ago with 10 families and has now grown to almost 80 families. We continue to develop a support network which will enrich each family’s unique approach to homeschooling through the continuous exchange of ideas and resources.
We also endeavour to promote Homeschooling by informing the community of its’ many rewarding benefits.
